Because taking wool pants to the dry cleaners shortens the pants lifespan, how often do you clean your wool pants? Isn't it gross to wear them many times between washes?

As infrequently as possible. If they smell or have visible stains, they get dry cleaned. Otherwise, it's a good brush, airing-out, and when necessary, steam press.
I'm also a strong advocate of the two pants for each jacket policy, because my jackets never wear as quickly as my pants (the jacket comes off the second I reach the office, the pants, unfortunately, have to stay on for the day..)

Wear as infrequent as possible (having >50 pairs help)
Avoid dry cleaning like the plaque unless there is obvious stain
Brush and steam press does the trick for me.

I dry clean mine as infrequently as possible during the season, and once at the end of the season before storage for summer.

Step 1: Treat them like raw denim.

Step 2: Go start a thread in SW&D about how often to wash raw denim.

(Step 3: ???????)

Step 3: Find happiness in your appropriately washed pants.

Where does the profit come in? Still though, the SW&D boys will not appreciate this.

How do we remove the wrinkles that appear after 4 or 5 wears? What about if you get caught in a downpour?

Simply get the pants (and suit) pressed as opposed to cleaned?
