I know we are being bombarded with pr0n spam and it must be frustrating for the mods ... but has anyone else noticed that the girls are exceptionally hot?

Would precluding new members from starting threads until they have accumulated 100 posts cut down on spam or simply pollute normal threads with spam?

I sympathize with the impulse, but that would awfully hard on lurkers with a specific, legitimate question. We get a lot of guys who join the week before their wedding in a panic, for instance, who want real help. They start a thread, make maybe five posts, get what they need and never come back. Do we want to prevent that?

You'd also get new users posting questions in irrelevant threads or necroposting. Nobody wants more of that.

Is it just me, or is there a much higher frequency of spam lately? Are the spambots getting smarter or something?
