Anyone heard of Barbarossa?

I have the chance to pick up a few scarves, labelled "Barbarossa, made in Italy, 100% cashmere". I have enough cashmere to know that they are genuine and the quality seems good. I'm probably going to go for them (4 in all) and will probably keep a couple and maybe sell a couple here if anyone is interested.

Only thing is, I've never heard of Barbarossa and a good bit of searching turns up very little (except a lot of WW2 sites). Anyone know anything about them?

I am surprised that in addition to the WWII sites you didn't find anything about Frederick I of Hohenstaufen, the Holy Roman Emperor who drowned on the Third Crusade.

As I recall, there was also a Barbary corsair known as Barbarossa, who aided the Turkish navy during the 16th century (or maybe it was the 15th, can't remember).

Can't help you with the scarves though.

I think I've found the answer. The scarves were promotional items when Fonda's character above was endorsing the limited edition Ferrari as driven by Don Johnson in the 80's. If they were based on Fonda now they would be made of saggy cracked leather.

That movie also has to pay for releasing Duran Duran onto an unsuspecting world (at least under that name).

The horny spacewoman is Barbarella not Barbarossa. Horny spacewomen with red beards would just be way too freaky.
