Cordovan as bad weather footwear. So I followed the SF advice and wear my cordovan during bad weather and got water marks all over. It took a year and half and numerous polishes for the water marks to fade. I don't why so many members suggest cordovan as bad weather attire.

I don't know what to tell you. This never happens to me. I have walked through snow and slush more than once wearing shell boots and never had a problem. Calf soaks through almost instantly, and gets easily stained from the salt they spread on the streets. Cordovan does not. At least, mine has not.

Marinella ties. To see what the fuss all about, I made a trip to BG to examine them in real life, they're very very nice don't get me wrong but there are number of equally nice makers like H&B which can be had for a fraction of cost 20 minutes downtown subway ride away. May be the bespoke ties are much nicer, but I don't see the point of bespoke ties unless you're 5'4 or under or over 6'4.

IMO, overall, Marinella has a higher taste level than any other maker. H&B are well made, and many of them are nice, but many are real clunkers. Marinella are almost uniformly nice, if somewhat dull (but I like dull ties).

Marinella also uses a great lining, a bit thinner and less spongy. And the shape is cut differently. Marinella's shape is that Italian "bottle" shape that Nicky also does. H&B -- like all English ties -- are cut more like a straight-sided triangle.

Well, yes. I've nothing against an automatic; however, I do have something against paying ridiculous amounts of money for a mechanical watch when superior functionality and quality can be had for cheaper.
