I think it was nice that he thought about, and then decided to wear that little ceremonial dagger.

His pin may say MONO, but the smile on the guy to his right definitely says "I gave it to him".

The MONO pin is most likely reference to mono sound. Spector helped develop the "Wall of Sound" technique which helped make great recordings at the time (which were usually in mono).

I do think he really doesn't care about people's lives.

Phil Spector should be a fashion icon.

Along with Michael Jackson, he is one of the more sartorially interesting individuals in a field filled with interesting individuals.

It actually says Back to Mono. Talk about standing against history...

From the pic above during his trial, it seems that Phil is also the originator of the lesser-known "Wall of Tease" technique, where one teases his hair and/or wig to such a degree that the jury in his murder trial can't actually listen to or focus upon evidence because of it. Crazy??? ...like a fox. Anyway, I love the first pic LK posted... it says both "I dress well" and "I'm homicidal" both at the same time. And the giant "PHIL" belt buckle is the piece de la resistance, of course...

Phil Spector appears to have a fondness for fancy dress. Note what appears to be a brocade waistcoat.

Back to Mono would make a catchy bumper-sticker; I think Spector was opposed to stereo recordings.
