I am about to increase my highly moderate shoe collection with a couple of more EG's - one pair of Oundle on 888 and one pair of Dover. Now, my question is which colour on which model: I love both Dark Oak and Burnt Pine, both in heavy antiquing, so I will pick one of each. Right now I am thinking the Oundle in Burnt Pine and the Dover in Dark Oak, what do you think?

For info, today I have:
2 pairs of EG Inverness, 1 in Black and 1 in Dark Oak.
1 pair of EG Canterbuty in Burnt Pine.
1 pair of EG Banbury in Mink Suede.
1 pair of C&J Weymouth in Dark Brown.
1 pair of C&J Aintree in Black.
1 pair of Borrelli oxfords in Tan.

Thanks

Ok, here are my thoughts:

- first send a picture of your shoes.
- then second a question: Is it important what kind of colour I like?

Sorry, but I do not have all shoes where I'm at right now, so can't post pictures.

How about being a little bit more adventurous? Edwardian and Burgundy. Burgundy for the Oundle. I have never seen one, I bet it would be lovely. Dover is considered by many as a country shoe, so Edwardian might be a good colour to go with it.

Edit: Sorry I digress from your original question. It really depends on what you will be using them for.

I would try to identify times when I would tend to wear the Oundle and times in which I would wear the Dover. If, for example, the Oundle will be worn solely with odd trousers and jeans, while the Dover will be worn with suits and the occassional odd trousers, then I would conclude that the Oundle should be burnt pine and the Dover should be dark oak. If the Oundle will be double soled and worn year round, while the Dover will be single soled and worn with light colored summer suits, then the Oundle might make more sense in dark oak and the Dover in burnt pine.
