Up until SF I never "thrifted", but I saw these today & I had to get them.. Now I don't know how to wear them as I have never bought anything of this style (all my shoes have been sleek not chunky).

Other than with jeans or chinos, I was thinking I may be able to wear them with my suits when it is cooler?

HELP! GetSmart I know you can help!

I will get my boot maker to give it a once over next week:
- New heels
- Rubber toe taps
- Leather conditioning

amazing boots, and would look great with jeans/chinos, an oxford bd shirt and a heavier sports coat (and a bow tie of course!).

pair them with heavier fabric suits (tweed, flannels etc) and oxford shirts. Don't wear em with light worsted wools or fine broadcloth type dress shirts.

I think they'd look great with some of your casual weekend looks that have some layering

imo needs to be worn with a no-break trouser (which you seem to lean towards anyways)

again, that's amazing you found those in thrift??!!

Fantastic thrift find, PG! Wish I could find some. Sounds like good advice above. GS is right, you want heavy and/or textured. Nothing flimsy. Think also English countryside.

Great pickup. I bought a pair of Stows in brown shell cordovan from the Tricker's store on Ebay a few weeks back. Absolutely loving them.

I've been wearing them with jeans, but you could definitely dress them up a bit.

- I was lucky as they never have anything in my size but every time I drop my stuff off they sell within the week!

Do they fit true to size? I've heard conflicting things.

- depends what your definition of true size is?
- very few of my brands have the same size..
- FWIW, I'm a UK or AU 7E, US 7.5, Todd's 6, Prada 7, Gucci 40.5, Paul Smith 7 & these are a 7.5 & they fit

In my experience, they run slightly large. I wear a US10.5 in all my Allen Edmonds, a UK9.5 in Paul Smith, and my Stows are UK9.5
