ok, so regular viewers of ******* will know that I have just made a trip to the shoemaker, and collect my first pair next Sat.

Looking through the bag of leather that Etienne sent me forever-ago, there were two lengths of brown leather, one of which will become the current shoes, the other will become my next pair...and one length of Band Aid Colored Leather (TM).

Now, with all due love headin' to manton and curryfavormatt, I just can't see myself doing the bandaid thing as a dress shoe.

One option - donate leather to gf - she can make some loafer type arrangement.

Orlagu's suggestion - make a messenger bag - but I have like three of those...

I guess I could do a belt, but seems like a waste. Have a new wallet already. So I guess shoes it is, but if I go band aid color (TM), it would probably have to be a very casual shoe...pics/suggestions wanted....

My vote would be low to mid cut casual boot with a single d ring strap across the forefront. The toe would be shaped, but curved toe (maybe a slight hint of bulbousness). Darken and water proof 'em with some beeswax based applicant. Wear em with jeans and let them age nicely.

you mean a bandaid colored (TM) version of this:

nah, too dressy, would never wear them. I guess if I go with this color, it has to be a wear-with-jeans thing to replace my sneakers...

^ +1, similar to these Martegani beauties in shell that emptym rocked while riding across the States

They've really gottens some intense use in the 5 weeks I've had them. For about a month, they were one of four shoes I could use, since I've been moving and then riding across the country (new picts just added there of the last leg). I took serious motorcycle boots, sport sandals, moccasins, and these. Wanted to have something I could use in the city while riding & something dressy & something great for walking. These fit all three niches perfectly.

Will shine them when I find my brushes, etc. among my boxes, but here they are untouched:

Umm in my head, but maybe I can tell you where I got the inspirations (apologies for a strange meshing of photos, but this is what helped picture it in my mind). I was thinking of something like a more tradional, but still defined last, like maybe a crockett and jones 341

Then a boot with this kind of general height and shape, but on a last previously pictured... Maybe a more bootlike sole. Plain toe.

*Except instead of desert boot style, it would have a single D-ring strap across (nickel) the front. Abeit like a single monk shoe, minus the traditional buckle, with this detailing instead. Maybe loose the leather notches that hold the strap in place in the picture below as well.

Now try imagining all these design ideas coming together and being executed well in a congruent fashion... I swear it looks good in my head, but maybe that's just me.

Maybe throw out the pointy last and go more traditional rounded toe. So just desert boot type shoes, with a single piece strap and side rings. This is to replace the forgoed traditional lace-up closure.

Haha it's late so who know what the fk I'm thinking right now. I'll probably regret posting that in the morning...

I'd say, go ahead to make a bandaid shoe,

and then hire the third guy to antique w/ burgundy polish. Then they'd start to be able to make you antiqued shoes! SHWEET!
