About 6.6 miles at the park (each loop is suppose to be 3.3) in about 55 minutes.

5K in sprints. I did this *after* a short (1/2 hour) but intensive kickboxing workout. Highly do not recommend. The reverse order works a lot better. Did weights and pullups, dips, and other BW exercises after the sprints. Now, have to go buy new carseat. Really just want to put my feet up and watch a movie. Sigh...

Depends on the treadmill and the inclination. If you want something that approximates real running, try running at a 1% grade. Still the movement is quite different. Running on a treadmill requires considerably less propulsion than running on ground. On the other hand, you need more lift. I find that they are about the same difficulty once you are accustomed to both.

15 K in 1:24. It was the Boilermaker 15 K in Utica, NY (this morning). I haven't run more than 5 K since 1986 (I swear), but have been Crossfitting since 2003. My running is basically 400 meter and 800 meter "sprints" and a 5 K about every 3 weeks. I know my time isn't anything to brag about for a real runner, but I'm 44 and not a runner. Made a rookie mistake by wearing new running shoes. No blisters but a few hot spots. Also noticed my nipples burning when I showered. My wife, who ran CC in college, said many guys put band-aids on their nipples to prevent chafing.

Vaseline also helps with chafing.

10k in 44:30, at the end of my second olympic-length triathlon. Better than my 10k in a tri a few weeks ago (47:30), but still a long way to go. Actually, my swim is what really needs work. The 10k time is all right for now.

For chafing, you can use a product called Body Glide. Costs about $9 per stick, but it works very well. Pretty much standard issues for triathletes, I've learned. I've not used vaseline--may work just as well.

Vaseline can stain your shirt. But then, so can bleeding nipples.

Did 8.25 miles on Sunday morning in about 1:25. Today I feel surprisingly fine, considering I haven't run for that long in 6 months or so. Not sure if I'll do 10 next weekend, or 8 again at a slighty quicker pace.

havent been keeping up with my running for a few days
frown.gif

but i have a quick question...
Ive been doing pushups and situps every other day along with running everyday, and pushups are ok, I still can't do as many as i used to but its coming along... where as with my abs... I feel like im not getting anywhere (ive felt this before but this is the worst its been
confused.gif
)
do you guys think it would be smart/more efficient in terms of getting definition, to focus more on running/ pushups to lose wieght and then try starting to do any work on abs? I feel like the situps are the most discouraging part of my routine (along with all the other ab excercises i try... try is the key word..)
thanks in advance

Hopefully "all the other ab exercises" you try are the bulk of your ab work. "Sit ups" were for the 80s.
