And Maggette to the Warriors according to new reports. Excellent fit for him, though playing for Nellie can have a downside.
IMO I'm not convinced either GS or the Clippers will be a factor now, there's been some costly transactions made via both teams. Now that Baron, no longer has Brand or Maggette to work with it....their done! Now that GS no longer has Baron....their done!

Agreed. Some GMs just seem to think they need activity, any kind of activity, just so they can look busy.
It makes absolutely no sense. Now I know Brand was a free-agent, but I was somewhat interested to see how he and Davis would play together (if I was Baron...I would be disappointed after signing that contract). The Clips could have been a pretty relevant team again, with Baron, Mobley and Brand(we pretty much knew Maggette was on his way out). Those dang Duke players messed up the Clippers.
By all accounts, the Clippers were going to be able to very nearly match any offer from the Sixers (and probably the Warriors), and were willing to do so, but Brand (or his agent, or both) wanted to get off the Clippers. Speculation I've read so far is that he wanted out of the West, where it wasn't clear the Clips could even so much as make the playoffs, despite the Davis/Brand combo, and the Sixers look like a much better shot to go deep into the playoffs and maybe get a little lucky. Can't say I blame him.
Yao needs to limit his minutes per game to the low 30s during the regular season. The problem last year was that Mutombo was the only backup to Yao, and there is no way Mutombo can play 18 minutes per game on a nightly basis. Hopefully Joey Dorsey can pick up some of those minutes.
