Me neither I personally like Fox News, because it is fair and balanced, and you are not allowed to lie on t.v. about things like that

I can justify spending a good amount of money on jeans, but $200 is too much for me no matter how much money I have.

It's a sad day when Evisu is known as the "Hip-hop" jean. And please, no one pay $625 for Evisus. Pay $200 for a pair that as arguably better quality and a much, much, MUCH better fit.

Agreed. Although was the vanguard of the whole "Raw denim" and "Japanese Denim" trend, Evisu has long been surpassed in the quality/cost ratio by a large number of Japanese (Denime, 45RPM), European (Nudie) and American (Corpus, Rag & Bone), companies. While not all these companies offer great selvedge jeans, the cuts and washes (even the rinse washes) are far superior, imo, and none of them (excepting the Japanese companies) approach the $600 mark. Most are in fact well under $200 except in the major metropoolitan areas. Of course, prices vary with location. Paper Denims are much more expensive in Europe than in the States, and Nudies are about 1.5x as expensive in the states as in Europe.

I tried the nudie "straight sven" in a shop, dry & selvedge with a little swedish flag inside the waist in place of the traditional nudie logo. Well, it looked really bad on me : saggy butt, high waist, full cut legs. My wife told me it just looked bad as I stepped out the room. The price tag was 245 euros. The ola bootcut dry looked waaaay better with a perfectly shaped ass, and I bought it. Emmanuel

I am sure there are at least one or two other companies that made selvage jeans between 1983 and 1991, as I'm sure it didn't take eight years for denim mills in Japan to start using their shuttle looms from Cone. To be honest, I know APC did start out with unwashed denim, but are you certain it was always selvage? Did you read some history or an interview or something that I haven't seen? EDIT: Found a little history thing that says Jean Touitou has been using selvage denim since 89.
