I'm very curious about the target demographics for these Japanese publications. Mostly toward foreign expatriates and non-Japanese Westerners who could care less about the print? The watch magazines make sense as I know several local deep-pocket collectors (All Japanese and two Taiwanese) but for the most part Japanese tourists I've encountered in the US do not normally sport Lobb and TA shirts. The women seem more high scale though.

If you go onto Amazon Japan you can order them. (They have an "English" button that translates most things). You might want to Google the Dollar/Yen exchange rate so you can calculate the cost. Note that the 3 day freight is the major expense. But, if you but a few copies of British GQ, British Esquire, and a few American magazines at a newsstand it can start adding up as well.

They don`t target foreigners or expatriates at all. These type of magazines are all for 30s and up men with a little extra money. I understand that the image of a typical Japanese is the tourist with the camera hanging down the neck, but in reality they are much more fashion conscious that the typical American.

The men spend just as much as women on all the brands like LV, Hermes, Gucci, etc., helping to make Japan the #1 market for these lux brands. That leaves a lot of space for the brands like Lobb, TA, etc. to get their share of the lucrative Japanese pie.

Even all the the popular bespoke tailors from Naples that are mentioned here visit Japan on a regular bases to service their Japanese clients. Outside of Naples, Japan is the #1 market for all of these tailors. Some even have stores in Japan (like Rubinacci, Pirozzi, etc.). Of course, all the Kiton, Attolini guys have many stores and visit too.

I wonder if there is anything you can`t buy in Japan in terms of bespoke goods, men`s clothing type of stuff.

Another mag worth adding to the list is UOMO. Not as classic as the others, but still good to browse through the pics. If you like to mix more fashion forward stuff with classic, then this mag is actually perfect.

Beats me, some Beirut cover. Decided I needed an avatar, happened to be listening to that at the time.
