My First Cufflinks...purchased last week...

Mostly overly geometric/generic lookin' compared to most of yours, but gotta start somewhere... :) The ones on the far left (Black and Silver), kinda goes with one of my (more useless) mobile phones: Nokia 7280...

The ones on the far right...well had to do the visitor/tourist thing and get a set of their flags - like the minimalist look of their flag as well ;-)

Anyone been picking stuff up on EBay lately? Is it me or are things going a bit cheaper than before? I wonder if the economy is getting to people's EBay purchasing. I've given up on a couple pair that ended up going for just over my max--i.e. I put in a max of 22 figuring they'll go for 40+ and they end up at 23, when I would have been willing to go up to 35 or so.

The winning bid is shown to have won by just one increment over the second place bid even though the winning bidders max bid may have been much more.

Oh, I understand that. I'm saying that I'm surprised it stops there. Usually the stuff I'm looking at shows many more last minute bids that would have, in my example, kicked the price up much higher. But yes, as you say, the winning bidder could have been willing to pay 50. Who knows.

In a second price auction for a private good (i.e. an Ebay auction), you should always put in your maximum willingness to pay. If you know you're willing to do $35, the best strategy is always to bid $35.

I like them, a little art deco-esque. Who's the maker?

Very nice. Are these types of things banned now?
