I've seen many similar jackets referred to as goatskin. My seller, by the way, did respond to my comments about the mislabeling and said yes, the bomber is a G-1. Thanks for all your help, guys!

Congratulations - that's a sharp looking jacket. Glad to hear it fits so well.

That's a great jacket.
Belstaff, no?
Do you know what the style name is?

Here's the link, it's called the Lynton:
http://www.belstaff.net/index.php?pa...art&Itemid=180

I've got severl Belstaff jackets and they are the bomb(er).
I have the 70's racing, 1942 camden, Howard peacoat, Brad in black and black/brown(my favorite), Panther in black brown, Cougar in antique black, racemaster in navy wax cotton, and racemaster in ivy green cotton. I even have a windbreaker. Just amazing stuff, I'm completely hooked.

They are not really that expensive when compared with the cheap Armani, Hugo Boss,DnG and other fashion names charging higher.

The pros:
Great Quality and durability. Waterproofing. Amazing looking leathers in the real world. The antiquing is superb. These jackets can last a lifetime. The leathers are also slimmer. I will probably sell my Vanson J car coat as Belstaff makes a couple so similar.

The cons:
They have moved into a fashion style brand over simply a motorcycle brand which some have a problem with. They seem pricey to some, but again, you have to put it into perspective. Some say wax cotton can smell. Quality is amazing so I don't see this as an accurate criticism.

Awesome jackets on their website.
I'm not up on Belstaff history but the website makes me think the company is headed towards Burberry's (fashion) market.
Any ideas where I can see some of their jackets in person in the US (east coast)?

Awesome. Do you ride, Soph?

I must admit that I LOL'd reading their description of the Lawrence jacket ( http://www.belstaff.net/index.php?pa...art&Itemid=179 ) , allegedly favored by "D.H. Lawrence" -- I'm pretty sure they meant Lawrence of Arabia (T.E. Lawrence) rather than Lawrence of the Labia.

Yes, a red Ducati although it will probably be the death of me.

I believe they also have a Lawrence of the Labia blouson.

Belstaff is like crack, you can't just have one hit.

Actually those underneath pockets I've referred to, as they don't really show, are quite incidental to the overall design of these Cooper jackets (and I suspect jackets of other makers) so great - they serve a useful purpose. Maybe the Navy guys weren't supposed to appear with hands in their side jacket pockets, I don't know, but it's comfortable at times. When I was in Army ROTC in 1966-7 I recall one of the rules when we were wearing our "officer's uniform" was not to walk with our hands in our pants pockets. Hmmm...

Sons & Lovers in Aquba?

Apparently Belstaff reads RJman as they've changed the description now.
