Suit linings, silk vs. bemberg, etc.

I have silk lining the sleeves of one of my suits. It is noticeably hotter to wear than the bemberg lined others. Wouldn't necessarily get it again, even though i like the stripes.

Silk fights with a lot of jacket cloths and it is always better to use it for softer materials such as cashmere. Sometimes if the item will not be used as often like a dinner jacket, you can use silk there too. I wouldn't use plain colored silk for its own sake for many of the reasons mentioned above but I have employed matching silk scarves or patterned silk for a more elegant lining in a sports jacket or dinner jacket.

My suits and jackets have silk linings in plain colors. I have never noticed any of the problems mentioned in any of the above posts.
