Not to be a prick but Bergdorf is one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" stores. In terms of classic men's clothing, it's all the big brands (Kiton, Brioni, Borrelli etc) and the prices start in the 25% off range and I think plateau at 40%-50% or so (SoCal would know better), at least for that things that are worthwhile. There are further discounts, but by that time it's crap left. When you consider that suits are in the $4000-$6000 range, shirts in the $400-700 range and sportjackets in the $1500-3500 range, you realize that if you are an internet/bargain shopper (like me), BG has limited offerings at best. When they had a real shoe dept., there were good deals to be had. In terms of suits and shirts, you'll do better at a Saks sale, at least in terms of discount. The bad thing about BG is that the **** is so nice and the salespeople so cool, that it is not hard to occasionally go in and spend alot more money that you thought you ever would on an item.

An SA told me yesterday that the Brooks Brother's semi-annual sale will start June 2nd. Anyone else hearing anything?

Edit: Another told me today (5/27) that it'll be June 19th.

Some other thread says the turnbull & asser is on june 2nd.

Is anybody going to be there? What are the deals to look for?

I'm thinking about going for some slim flat front pants, good move?

The shirts are usually 109. Most of the ones available are quite garish. But if you find something you like, it can be a good deal. I've purchased 2 this way - 1 per year for the past 2 years. It is best to go early in the AM if you want better selection.
