Was just wondering...

http://www.contextclothing.com/brand...w_standard.php

On here, is size 30 and 31 a typo? Or are they really the same thing with the 31 having a larger pants fit?

Because, I want to size down one, and I'm looking for the looser fit, so I might as well get 31, eh?

If you're looking for a loose fit, just size down 1 from a pair of jeans that run true to size (like levis) that fit you snug. So if you wear a size 32 in levis 514 and they fit you snug in the waist, get a 31 or 30 apc ns. They shouldn't be too tight. As for their hem measurements, i just like hearing from actual people as i never trust website measurements with the exception of a few places.

Size 29 Knee: about 8.5" (measured at 13" from crotch) Hem: 7.625" (edited: i didn't have the tape measure pulled type on the hem)

You might want to get another estimate too since my hem is a bit wonky (they are hemmed since I'm pretty short and not a staaaaaaax aficionado). More precisely, it's just over 7.5 but just under 7.75...roughly 7.625. I know it's not a lot but somehow a quarter of an inch can make a huge difference once it's on your ass.

I'm thinking about getting a pair of NS. I wear a 30 in 501s so I'm planning on getting a 28, but that's not really my issue. I have pretty short legs...I have to get my jeans hemmed to an inseam of around 28-29 usually. I don't really like the whole cuffed or stacked looked, so what would you guys recommend? I know I'll loose some length when I wash/rinse so I figured I'd go for a 30 inch inseam...let me know what you think

New Cure would be your best bet.

they only come in one inseam length (they claim 34, it's like 35 or so). just buy the waist size you want and hem them to your taste. allow for minimal shrinking in length. edit to answer your earlier question: they're what i got first as far as raw denim and they were exactly the right call. go for it.

Bought a pair of APC Original Standards today at their store in NY. I traditionally wear a 34, but bought a 33 looking for a more relaxed fit. They are snug in the waist, but not super tight. They are also selling the Hipster model. Neither the OS or the Hipster are on the APC website.

They were out of stock of New Standards in both 32 and 33, so I was unable to compare. Are the NS much different in anything but rise? Do the same sizing rules apply?

The Hipsters are online actually. They are under the women's raw denim jeans, as they are primarily women's jeans. Also the Original Standard isn't the same thing as the Petite Standard, is it?

No, they told me the petite was different. I think its skinny, but obvious my knowledge is limited.
