He had a position on everything. I actually considered dropping his class the first day, but I soldiered on anyway. At the end of the semester, he told me I had 'the gift.' So that was nice.
I think I noticed the difference when we had to edit our classmates papers. You read a thesis and it has 'is' and 'are' every third word, you start to get his point.

One of the advertising agencies I used to work at insisted on putting these kinds of thigs in their presentations. I always felt it was a sign of someone who doesn't know what he's talking about - if you can't convince them, confuse them. Endless charts that mean nothing are another.
