Going off of the puke thread, what words annoy you?

One word that I find kind of annoying that gets thrown around a lot on the clothing fora is "sartorial".

Another word that's been getting annoying lately is the word "ironic".

What else?

"Solutions" when what is really meant is "stuff we are selling."

Two things off the top of my head:

- somebody being "beaten to within an inch of his/her life"
- the use of the word "amount" instead of the correct "number", as in "there is a large amount of people in the theater"

OK, some of these are not buzz words.

If this is a general language pet peeve thread, then I want to add improper use of "over" v. "more than".

"New paradigm", "paradigm shift" ... Anything with "paradigm" makes my eyes roll instantly, which is actually not a good thing when it's a client saying it...

What is worse is that this one is recycled every time there is a "new new paradigm." In other words, every ten years or so. Green+anything to form one word.

I hate "outsource", as in

"there is a new paradigm shift in business strategies to outsource...."

For me, "bloke" and "firm" . Both are used by the Brits, the first for a dude(another word I hate) and the second for a soccer gang.
