Even worse is that Kiton, Borrelli, Attolini goods in the US sell for far more than they do in Europe. I suppose import duties play some role but it's probably more a case of pricing predicated on what the market will bear.

Yeah, you are probably right, although one of the linked retailers is US based and had them at $90. Anyway, doesn't mean it isn't fun to hold a little grudge

I would place the jacket late 90's to early 00's. Definitely the label before current label. At the right price, it would be a good acquisition.

^^ me too, I really hate how everyone seems to be 42R - I'm sure that's the most common mens size.

Here are the listings.

Wow, this auction ends in 1 hour and the price is up to $255 for the lot of 3 shirts!

I wonder if the buyer knows he can get NWT RLPL shirts for about the same price.

Here's the Ebay auction for the 3 RLPL shirts.

Wow, it ended at $320, you never know on Ebay!

Most likely he does. Not like you can compare Black Lable and Purple Label dress shirts though. Different fits(the former is far slimmer, thus more desirable), and different availability(Black Label is only sold at selected RL stores IIRC). And in a rare size to boot.

Got it today. The fabric is amazing... had to take it to my tailor to have it altered pretty significantly, and he couldn't get over the material (on Yoox, 54/44 is often too small for me, but in this case, 46 was almost a size too big -- but the overall price with alterations will still be a good deal). That said, it's fused (and unlined, so the fusing is actually visible, as far as I could tell).

I can't believe no one even bidded.

Well, it's an odd size. Also note that Hepworth's is/was a mass-market chain. I sold a Hardy Amies for Hepworths coat last year. Chestpiece was rather stiff; fusing was not so good then. This is affected by dry cleaning of course, so your experience may be different.

Apparently Victor Meldrew doesn't snipe. Congratulations.
