I'm in the same boat, man, except my wrist's even smaller (6.25). Any watch bigger than 40mm looks huge on me. I love that exact same IWC you just got but couldn't pull the trigger due to the size. Another one I like is the JLC Master Eight Days. Too big, too.

Yes, I hear you both. Making things worse, the current trend seems like "the bigger the better". 40mm is really on the smaller side...most watches have gone above that, and some go all the way to 46mm.

To us, wearing such a watch is like wearing a clock on our wrists.

I think it kinda helps out though. Those people wearing 44mm-46mm watches is the same as us wearing our 40mm-41mm so it isn't quite ridiculous for us to rock those slightly large watches.

I tried the PAM 48 in a store and it doesn't look quite huge anymore on my wrist.

That's cool. Somehow, I like the Rolex / James Bond association better. Fleming put Rolex in the novels with no product placement motives and neither did the film makers in Dr No. The cringing line in Casino Royale was "Is that a Rolex?" by Vespa to James. That was the low point for me of what was an excellent film.

last time I checked, it was $20,000 USD and all sold out before it hits the market. It's nearly impossible to get one even if you have the dough.

See if I were to get a Rado (perhaps one of the stops on our Alaskan cruise this summer) I would want to get one of those ceramic digi ones. Very sporty-techy for that Jil/Raf look.

hmmm... maybe it's just me, but I don't recall ever seeing a rado with a leather strap. Why don't you just go to your local rado dealer and see if you can purchase one from them? I'd assume they have the ability to order spare parts for repairs and whatnot.

You need some eccentric tastes to pull those ceramic ones off. I used to be enamoured by all of rado's designs, now, not so much.
