That's just the starting price for some plain loafers. The ones with bells and whistles - antiqueing, reverse stitiching, one-piece construction, norwegian welts... - cost close to 3000 euro, RTW.

I wish AE would have looked at this collection before bringing out their made in Italy "Seven" line. If you are going to do reverse stitch, this is how it's done. IMHO, AE has the quality, but would do even more business by making shoes on lasts more similar to the ones pictured here.

I think AE's aspiration should be C&J, not Lattanzi.

These three shoes are absolutely amazing!! Didn't anyone notice? They're all of wholecut construction with reverse stitches. With beautiful finish to boot. Only the Lattanzi seamless wholecut blucher posted in this thread can top these. Pure tour de force.

I have a shoe from the same series, but in a wholecut oxford. I am no fan of wholecuts, but the work put into that shoe is unbelievable.

I don't like the hidden stitching, either. There is just something about it that doesn't sit well with me. I've seen and tried on styles that I've liked but the hidden stitching ruined it for me.
