http://www.gemnation.com/watches/IWC...atic-1019.html Here it is from a grey market dealer for around $5k to get an idea of price*. It will be more from an authorized dealer but then you have some leeway to bargain with them. *Please note that I am not advocating buying from them.

My vintage Omega Seamaster Chronometre, ca. 1964. Inherited this in beat-up shape, and had it fully restored at Omega about a year ago. Love this watch to death; not fancy like most of the watches in here though. To me, it's so simple and charming.

c_del: no apologies! That's a very nice watch, and Omega is a great, highly respected brand.

Thanks! The quality of some of these older watches is truly amazing; the watch is built like a tank. Before I got it, it was neglected; never oiled, never adjusted. It kept perfect time even despite this. It does have a COSC certified chronometre movement, but I wonder if it still is up to current COSC spec? I'm assuming they raise they standards over the years. Anyone know?

Sorry about the crappy photos, my camera is on the mends. I paid $2,400 for it, is that a fair price?

Is that a 3741 quartz? $2,400 is probably a bit rich unless it's NOS (doesn't look like it though)

Nice watch - congrats!

(caveat: haven't seen many of those for sale recently so the above may be a dated view on market price)
