I had already posted in here but thought I'd share a new pic of my breitling.

I would agree, especially since the price difference between sapphire and mineral glass is not really all that much. Hell, when you think of what you're getting, the price of (round) sapphire and plastic really isn't terrible.

Plexiglass is great--I wish it was still used in high end watches. It curves in a way no sapphire crystal can.

one thing I have noticed in the watch world (here, WUS, TZ, etc) is that pics are known as scans. My wife and I crack up at this. Did people literally used to scan their watch on scanners before digital cameras came of age? Completely off topic I know. Resume submissions of your scans guys.

I kind of like it. It's like when people say 'cell phone' I'd rather be inclined in saying 'mobile'. I know it's a british thing but it just sounds more unconventional.

Interestingly, Seiko seems to be able to make the sapphire crystal on some of their Grand Seiko watches look exactly like plexiglass.

Panerai uses a lot of curved (or domed) sapphire crystals. PAM127 is a good example.

I think the new Rolex SD has a domed crystal too, no?
