I am wanting to buy a second pair of Zonkey Boots but since they don't have my size in any of the boots I have to special order them meaning I can't return them if they don't work out.

I love the look of the Jodhpurs BUT I have never owned this style of boot before and since I wear relatively slim leg pants I wonder if the top of the boot will be visible under the pant leg. Does anyone have experience with this? Chelsea boots do this too my pants but derby boots like my Edward Green Galways do not.

The other boot I am considering is this beautiful derby with rubber soles. Does a rubber sole hinder the flexibility/durability of a hand welted construction? It appears to be a Vibram copy of a Dainite sole.

Can anyone give a sense of how Zonkey's sale section works? Do they have sales at certain times of year or rotate stock through?

I'd be interested in knowing about this too. Can't bring myself to pony up for a retail-priced pair sight unseen [IMG]

I emailed them. Alexandra is nice and helpful and honest. Perhaps they could become a style forum affiliate?

Anyway, she said they post end of line items. Didn't give an indication of when. Have to keep checking the sales section and report here any changes.

From what I can tell they have not added any new shoes to the sale since new years. I picked up some sale loafers that are super comfortable.

Congrats. I was too late to get my size on the marocco (if they put that on sale at all)

Like most designs you have to live with them a while before you experience their nuances. The Sailor last is perfect for every situation. Zonkey really do make shoes you want to wear because the balance between style, quality, comfort and durability is right.

I think a lot of people are not buying Zonkey because they don't offer the classic often. I guess that's the arrangement they have with SC.

Didn't notice there was a Zonkey Boot thread.

Here's my pair on the Classic last. Fit wise it is quite comfortable in the toe box. Instep height is on the higher side but not as high as Vass or EB. Construction is pretty good. Welt stitching seems higher SPI than Vass in comparison. Pretty sure they are made by F.lli Giacometti.

B&Tailor in South Korea had a sale on select Zonkey Boot models which ended some time last week. So i got that pair at 50% off (USD $450 + shipping).

Would have been tempted to get a pair of loafers if I knew my sizing. Was willing to take a chance on sizing due to the discount but not full retail price.
