Just wanted to take a second and thank Zissou for the 3 incredible belts he made for me. Here's a pic (left is the British Tan, middle is the Oxblood which I added a bit of brown dye to darken it, right is the Chocolate.)

Zissou just made me an oxblood belt which is dark enough for me, but out of curiosity what is the process by which you darkened it further? You simply bought brown leather dye and applied a light coat?

Also wanted to post a couple pictures and thank Zissou for a couple belts he made for me. A Black one for a Burberry buckle I had and an Oxblood one to match some Red Wings I have.

That's correct. And, it turned out great (it was fine before, I just wanted a bit darker.)

Thanks for the photos, guys. I am glad you are enjoying your belts so much.

I've decided to adjust the oxblood dye mix a little darker. From now on, it will be as dark as mrdashington's belt above, which matches RW's black cherry, and #8 shell fairly well. It's hard to match #8 exactly, because shell accepts dye much differently than cowhide.

So does that mean that it would be a hassle for you to make future oxblood belts a shade or two lighter than what you've now decided is the mrdashington default?

Also did you stop using the dual prong buckle shown HERE?

^everything is in the first post above, or in the other threads in my signature...

If you really want the lighter oxblood, I can do that. That dual prong buckle was for the ConexRoy jeans contest belt. I can order more, but they are something like $35 each for just the buckle.

I may have to buy one next paycheck...
I searched all of your threads and couldn't find an answer. Have you ever thought of branching into Cordovan? I would die for a Cordovan belt that isn't in an insane price range. Also exotics would be badass but I'm thinking that might be beyond your scope.

Yeah, I am not really into exotics. I have often thought of doing some key chains and card cases in shell cordovan, but haven't ordered any yet. I don't think it's possible to do a shell belt since the shells are only a couple feet long or so.

I would definitely buy a shell card case and I'm sure lots of others would too. Especially if you could get Whiskey, Ravello, or Cigar. #8 and Black would be sweet too, but I'd pay extra for those rarer colors.
Really? Carmina, Alden, and probably other high end brands all have shell belts. Granted I know nothing about leather but why can they do it and you can't?

It looks like they join several strips together and back it with cow or horsehide. I would think it would wind up looking like a bit of a Frankenstein belt, all just so it can have a shell outer.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm just not interested in trying something new. The fact is, in the past two years or more, I've never, ever been caught up with orders between the two places I sell things, along with some wholesale orders. I do have a couple simple billfold wallet designs in my head, so hopefully I will have some time to work on those soon. I definitely want to pick up some shell cordovan, though.

Ah yes. I didn't notice that. Well in any case I vote for shell card cases, key chains, and perhaps eyeglass cases and bracelets (not sure if that would look good or not but it sounds cool, lol)

I have a two belt/one buckle set that I accidentally made in the wrong size for someone. The two belts are black and chocolate, measuring 35.5" to the middle hole, and they fit a 1.5" standard roller buckle. Your choice of buckle color:

I still have this set, and it should work well for someone who typically wears ~32W jeans.
