Anyone try this stuff when they get the cold? Does it work? I know the nasal spray was taken off the market but they still sell the oral spray and swallowed tablets?

It's just zinc. Take zinc tablets on a full stomach.

I took the tablets last time I started getting a cold. And I really did end up having a short duration, wimpy cold. However, that could have been completely coincidental. I would need to test it out a few more times to make a final decision. But, I will definitely try it again just based off of how quickly I got over that cold.

I'm a zinc (zicam/coldeeze/etc.) believer. I've had enough imes where I've felt the tickle in my throat or where the taste of stuff was just starting to get off and I knew a cold was coming on. The zinc stuff either prevented it (once) or seemed to greatly reduce what I would have normally had down to a 1-2 day wimpy cold thing.

I used to get a real knock down,3-5 days in bed, cold about every other year. I haven't had one in 2 or 3 years now that I've been using the stuff.

Oh, zicam is expensive. The coldeeze (sp?) coughdrops have zinc in them and theoretically work better because they take longer to dissolve in your mouth. I've also had good luck (so far!) with grocery store zinc coughdrop generics. Generally speaking, I tend to mix all 3 options as soon as I think somethings coming on. It might be coincidence, but it's worked for me!

I use the spray and it does seem to shorten the duration and lessen the severity of my colds.
