I was just over at the Phoenix Off 5th and they've got a lot a suits labeled E. Zegna "Shang", at $599 and going half off tomorrow. I'm a noobie here, but didn't find anything under Search and am curious if anyone knows anything about this line and can offer any opinions...

For myself, I'm looking for something that's a step up from Hickey Freeman LTD but am trying not to break the bank. Step up or no? Thanks in advance.

From my very limited understanding, Shang is a fabric type--90% wool and 10% silk--rather than an E. Zegna line or cut. I've seen suits on the internet made from Zegna Shang cloth and designed by others. So my guess would be that the suits you're looking at are either normal E. Zegna with a particular fabric or not actually E.Zegna but just cut from the fabric.
