I ask this question on another forum, but have any of the members on this board ever seen a seam going down the center of the collar of a Zegna suit? The reason I ask is because there is a to good to be true deal on Ebay.. All responses are welcome... Thanks

Which line is the possibly offending suit coming from? Soft, Z, Napoli Couture? If it says "Tessuto" or "Cloth Ermenegildo Zegna" it's not made by Zegna, just made with Zegna cloth.

It'd be easier for us to help you if you can post a link to the suit in question.

The seam is on the back of the collar, looks as if it lines up with the seam going down the back of the jacket. Heres the URL,hope it works.. ebay

Can't vouch for the provenance of the suit, but it looks like the seam is in the felt under the collar, and not in the collar itself. (See the pic of the "made in Italy" tag? No evident seam there, assuming that tag is on the inside of the collar where they usually go.) I've seen that before.

The photo collage of the Zegna BH store is pretty goofy.

And there're 3 big "X" in the facade, a big feng shui no no.

Anyway, judging by the tags, label and construction, the suit seems to be authetic.

It is definitely authentic, IMO. If it's not authentic, some tailor made a pretty damn nice looking suit.

That's not a too good to be true deal on ebay, in fact, it could even be a bit expensive for ebay.

Alias--good catch, I think so too.

Drzzzt, what would you consider a good deal for a Zegna suit on eBay? Can you show some link to a completed transaction?

I don't know about that - it looks fairly recent based on the roped shoulders and high gorges, which I consider to be a recent trend, at least among "fashion" designers like Zegna. Not to mention that Zegna usually goes for quite a bit on eBay.. upwards of $300 in my experience.

The mannequin being backwards will make the suit look like it has high gorges, when in actual fact the gorges would merely be of average height.

I bought a couple NWT Zegna suits earlier on ebay for well less than $100. I don't have any recent links to them as the ones I've purchased earlier are no longer in the database. You just have to look at alot of different suits on ebay. However, that particular one is at $179 with 4 days and 20 hours left, I would imagine that it will go for $300 or so.

I think paying $100-200 for a Zegna suit NWT is not bad.
