I've been looking for quite a while for a (specific) cotton dark blue blazer. I will use it for the occasional night out, dark jeans with a smart shirt and also for a business casual look. From all that I've tried the one I find more interesting and versatile had a subtle "piquet" cotton look and dark shade blue. Unfortunately it didn't fit (Yoox), others usually look like a suit jacket which I don't like (I wear a suit for that) and don't even mention gold buttons...

I like this Zegna a lot and it's a good example of what I'm looking for but it's very expensive:

Any alternatives for this?

Bump because I'm curious about what others think. Also, is that an unconstructed shoulder?

The link claims it's a shirt jacket. So

Doesn't A.P.C. make one very similar to that?

The jacket seems ideal for your described needs. The 3 patch pockets offer a more casual look than a typical suit jacket and the fit is certainly more modern and fashionable.

I've had good experience with Zegna over the years. They were a little behind the curve a couple of years ago but have recently been doing interesting new cuts like this.

Ah, good point. I suppose it is, by definition, unstructured. I presume it has some canvas in the shoulder at the very least.

This may sound obvious considering it's Zegna's website but they've done a good job at making those clothes look great on the model.

^As the Zegna site is powered by the Yoox group, Yoox should do the same on their own site. OP, check Boglioli, Piombo, Tonello or Lubiam (L.B.M 1911 like this one) on Yoox

A fully machine-made shirt/jacket (shacket(?)) for $1235+ strikes me as a tad rich, but what do I know.

Considering it's the cheapest thing on the website I was wondering why it was so cheap

I don't remember the price difference between cotton and wool being this high.

Thanks for the feedback, I do think it's very expensive hence looking for possible similar alternatives. Yoox is always shoot'n'hope, there's nothing on it right now that fits my needs. If push comes to shove I might buy it if they offer some discount. It will play a "base" role so I'm prepared to pay more for something that lasts (spring/summer night out use) and be versatile.

I already own a Boglioli jacket, like it a lot, but again nothing similar available, I was eyeing a dark grey one but I still think dark blue is the more versatile color for the needs.
