I'm thinking of buying a suit and i'm particulary interested in Zegna or Cerruti 1881. Now i know almost everything there is to know about Zegna, whereas Cerruti, well, it's a different story. Some posts on this forum suggest that their diffusion line (Cerruti 1881) is great in terms of quality and design, while others suggest the suits are more or less worthless (and i'm not talking about the Lanificio flli. Cerruti). Any opinion, additional insight?

I have an 1881 from a few years ago. Had to get it tailored for fit at the waist (they're leaner now) but the fabric and construction are superlative. Mine is without any vents, Armani style. Not sure if that's a signature of Cerruti too? The fit around shoulders and the drape on my back have received some compliments over the years. I'd go for it, but frankly I wouldn't pay as much for an 1881 as for a Zegna mainline.
