Greetings Gentlemen,

I am new to this site, but the information presented here is fantastic. I am will be graduating from residency in six months, and do not know much about fine men's clothing. However, I was reading a post on suit quality and wondered where Z Zenga fits in. Also, is there more than one manufacturer using the name Zenga?

Thanks in advance,

ed

First, it's Zegna.

Secondly, many manufacturers use Zegna cloth, as they are a cloth mill as well as a garment manufacturer.

Thirdly, Z Zegna is fashion forward, but fused, and not particularly good quality compared to Zegna main line or Napoli Couture. Probably similar quality to stuff like Hugo Boss.

drizzt3117, for the love, I know you're out of southern California, but please stop using the word "stuff" for every damned thing you talk about. Wine, cars, clothing, all stuff for you, eh? If you need help, buy yourself a nice thesaurus.

Regarding Z Zegna, it fits nice and pretty on a slim fellow, but it's glued together in Mexico. You want to pay a lot for what amounts to a theater costume, go ahead, piss your money away. If you want to do better, keep abreast of the conversations on this forum. There's a lot to learn before you pull the trigger on a suit. Most of the retail world is set up to make you spend a lot more than you are getting.

Dearest moderator, Nothing I said isn't true. Â And the only reason I have a hangover is because I drank champagne last night.

It is true. And your tone is testier than usual. Just trying to avoid flame wars. Only I (or J.) get to start them.
