I mean by dress coat a LONG (like a mac) coat in wool or cashmere.

    What is an overcoat?

What you just described. You two are referring to the same thing. Dan

    I'll need to qualify my answers a bit. 1) suits -- 24 (some I rarely wear and should probably divest) 2) dress shoes -- 11 3) dress shirts -- 63. My wife just counted them last week and has mandated a 30% divestiture of my holdings. [IMG] 4) ties -- ~40. 5) dress coats -- 2 ( I wear one of them 90% of the time) 6) Macs -- 1 (rarely ever wear it) 7) cufflinks -- 15 8) Braces -- 0 9) Dress belts -- 6 10) Dress slacks -- 18 11) Odd jackets (I added this one): 5

You seem to be a cufflinks fan. What kind of links do you have?

Obviously I need to update my wardrobe to keep up with all of you.

    1) suits -- 2 (rarely wear either of them, basically weddings and funerals)
    2) dress shoes -- 2
    3) dress shirts -- 10
    4) ties -- about 50 or so, left over from the days when I wore a suit and tie everyday.
    5) dress coats -- 1
    6) Macs -- 1 (rarely ever wear it)
    7) cufflinks -- 8
    8) Braces -- 0
    9) Dress belts -- 3
    10) Dress slacks -- 12 (few of which are any good I am working on replacing many of them)
    11) Odd jackets -- 6

Now if you want to talk about how many pairs of jeans I own, there I could be competitive. Most of you wouldn't want the ones I have, but I have a lot of them, along with more casual buttondown shirts. Since I wear jeans to work obviously this is more practical for me.

you wouldn't want them because they aren't very cool. All are Calvin Klein Jeans, but many are older dated styling, that I use to mow the lawn and paint the house. And I am a size 36/34

I also have about ten pairs of silk knots, which I really like for more casual occasions. My links are predominantly Paul Smith (not the novelty ones, but just painted metal) though I've purchased a few from a local artist that are pretty funky. I also bought a pair recently from Brooks Brothers that are metallic and look like buttons. I think they're pretty understated, but interesting.

trendy. Brands like Diesel, PDC, Rogan, Helmut Lang, Seven, Nudie, Earnest Sewn etc. these are the brands most people that are interested in denim are looking for.
