Basically I'm surfing ebay now looking for good deals. And I need to know which brands I can trust in terms of construction and fabric.

Go ahead and post your top 5 brand names offering suits in $US 1000 price range.

Offtopic: Boss suits don't impress me at all... all trend no classics.

New.

BTW I think Brooks Brothers suits are very good (1818 collection). Too bad I can't find any on ebay in plain colors.

On ebay or retail... you can add margin of $US 500 for retail.

You get the idea, suits in middle pricing range. Not $US 4000 behemoths and not $US 200 fused jokes.

RLBL.... I'm in love with their sillhouette.

(TaT? never bought a suit from them, but I like the idea of what they do, the shape of their suits, and the price tag isn't so bad.)

Isaia, Battistoni and Brioni can all be had under $500 on eBay. Obviously used, but mostly in excellent shape. I got a gorgeous Battistoni charcoal w/ purple windowpane suit off eBay a couple years back for $150. Description said it was Pre-Owned. Looked to have been worn once or twice.

I like the Brooks Brothers 1818 Fitzgerald, mainly because it fits me perfect in a 39L which almost no one makes.

Bespoke for all 5. I easily get them within that price-range. You have to love local shops.
