I ordered a sweater vest off the internet a couple weeks ago and recieved the wrong color combination (pink and green). I was too slow in returning the vest so now I'm stuck with it.

I threw these two looks together to try and make the vest workable. I'm not sure if the green from the vest "works" with the black jacket. I also have my doubts on wether the tie goes with the vest. (Please excuse the ugly knot)

Your opinions please.

PS: Yes, I know the suit is black. Even worse, it's Hugo Boss. And even worse I paid $1,400 for it. All I can say is that it was purchased pre-styleforum. Please go easy on me...

EDIT: After looking at these pictures, I've noticed that my collar doesn't hug my neck all the way around. Is this wrong and can a tailor fix it?

Me, I like that vest. I have a lot of things that would compliment it, but I suppose more than a few doods would feel trepidation wearing a pink/green striped sweater. The green looks really dark on my screen so it seems to pair well with the black jacket. What was the colorway you *thought* you were getting?

I like the sweater and think it goes fine with the black jacket, though there could be better choices, depending on your wardrobe. Personally, I would not use as much pink as present in the first picture (tie is the biggest offender) nor in the second, where the easiest fix is to switch out the pocket square though the shirt .

Where'd you get the vest?

Get Smart, although I'm not certain, I believe I ordered a vest that had two shades of brown. I was not intending to wear it with a suit; rather I was planning on matching it with a more casual button down shirt.

whoopee, I ordered the vest off of yoox.

I would try to pair it with a more casual jacket (not a suit)

The shirt collar looks just a little big, but maybe tightening the tie a little will help.

I think you should wear a white square to break up all the pink, and a dark tie like navy or black. Then it'd be perfect.

it looks pretty good. But the outfit is too pink. Would even work with a navy blazer and some white pants i think. just break it up and will look brilliant.

yes i too bought a boss suit pre-style forum. i regretted it because for the same money (or less) I could have bought a better quality garment.... But it was a learning experience.

In general I would put it more into the "casual" rotation. In spring/summer you can wear it with khakis, jeans, etc. a polo, classic white neckless t-shirt...

Think about it. Just my two cents.

Thank you for all the advice. I'm especially interested in pairing it with a white pocket square, but will also try the other suggested looks.
