I personally prefer double sided links connected by a chain, though I'll compromise on the chain from time to time. They're not difficult to find.

Unless the link has two sides, one side of your cuff looks un- finished.

Why are these links so expensive?


What do you think about the box for 30 pairs? Seems a good deal?

I have no links with chain because it is not so easy to push in the cuffs and because I am afraid to have the chain broken with use.

They seem expensive to me. "Trimmed" in gold can mean anything from solid gold to gold plate. Sterling silver is so cheap these days, that it is barely even considered a precious metal any more. They are nice, but should probably cost less than $100.

Nancy and Rise is an oft-discounted brand, not in the Borrelli 'best in the world' kind of category, either.

Those links should be much much cheaper.

Also, I am not crazy about the design. Mais a chacun son gout.

Ernest - the chain wont break, or at least, it shouldnt. I own probably 50 pair of antique double sided cufflinks, and maybe 25 newer pairs, and have not once had an issue with the chain breaking. I have, however, had several of those toggle things break on me. They are generally held in place by a very cheap pin, that over time either wears or slides out. Its happened to me enough times over the years to lead me to think the double sided variety are superior. You are right in one respect, they are not easy to get on, especially early in the morning, when you are groggy and tired. Like many things that are difficult, however, the payoff is worth the effort.

I like the box. if its well made, I think its worth the money.

the links you are looking at seem both overly expensive, and a bit showy for my taste. that shouldnt effect you though, if you like them, wear em proudly.

The box is quite nice. It is not cheap, but is a nice display piece...

I agree with the others that the links seem *very* expensive for what you get. Their original versus sale price may well be pure puffery.

As for the box, the quality of leather and workmanship is impossible to tell from a picture -- thus, you have to go on the brand name. Do you know it? Personally, I wouldn't buy it because I don't want any more clutter the top of a dresser or closet shelf. Having a glass top suggests it should be displayed, not tucked inside a drawer.... Finally, with this, you're limited to 30 pair of links -- that may be fine for you now, but you'll surpass that someday, I imagine.

The cufflinks are nice, but cost more than I can imagine paying.

I really like the box. Assuming that it is well-crafted and will complement your other decor well, it may be a good purchase.
