What is your least favorite pattern? You know, the one that seems to be accepted by most but really strikes you personally as hideous or something you would never wear.

For me it's houndstooth. I think it is visually jarring and not at all good-looking. Especially larger houndstooth patterns. I understand most would not share my sentiment, but that's the point.

How about you?

Possible choices include:
- Check
- Tartan
- Prince of Wales
- Windowpane
- Herringbone
- Bird's Eye
- Stripe (added for completeness)

large houndstooth, to me at least, defeats the purpose. but small houndstooth may be my favotire pattern.

i don't like bird's eye. most of the time i like tartan; depends on what it's used on.

i don't like small stripes that are close together in most cases, no matter the color. i think that's it.

I like nailhead, but I have never been able to warm up to bird's eye.

How do you describe the difference between them?

Birdeye = larger dot, rounded, on a diagonal pattern.

Nailhead = smaller dot, squarish, on a grid pattern.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
