Plenty of stores (Zara, H&M, hole-in-the-wall shops) just rip whatever is popular in the high fashion world. I don't care much personally, just enough to wonder if it makes a difference. Some people are paying thousands for the original leather jacket for example, then a lowly label copies it and sells it for $100 to less fortunate buyers, having them feel like the belle of the ball with their "designer" jacket.

Can most people even tell the difference between the expensive original and the much more affordable replica?

If you're more concerned with what others think of your clothes than you are with how you feel about them, just keep shopping at Zara.

This forum is for people who care about clothing based on its own merits; most here are not dressing to impress others, though that can be a nice byproduct.

I'm glad people may be wearing Zara/H&M if only because it doesn't look like complete trash. It's a step in a better direction.

Caring about the brand of the clothing you're wearing and not the actual product is weak.

Zara's actual product is pretty weak too.

What is your intention to ask this question? Are you afraid to shop at Zara or are you angry about people shopping there looking better than you?
