I just bought this exact boot at the recent Saks Fifth Avenue sale. I'm normally not a boot guy, but these are outstanding. I'm really enjoying them.

    here are some brown beauties:

...all kinds and all shades...if I had to pick one it would be the upper-left or the upper-right shoe...

How dark is 'dark brown'? I wouldn't say numbers four and five are dark brown. Anything lighter and it's 'tan' - I'd call 4 & 5 mid-brown.

These are a game changer. Thanks for posting them, B. Although, I might prefer a balmoral. Have to think about these... I'd keep them Shikar, although they might not get much use in Texas, unless you rode a horse or a motorcycle.

Trust me, I already looked away. [IMG]

    I don't know. They . . . just don't do anything for me. I'm sure they're built like a brick shithouse (that's a compliment).

Budapest model on the U last: Yes, indeed. Spectators: I don't think so. The leather could be dark brown cordovan. Is it?

i admit, i didn't get the irony of the rockport statement.

btw, these are not mine. they are to small for me. i need more width. i cannot wear shoes built on "sleek" lasts.

yes, they have a solid construction and the leather is excellent. they have an elegant and discreet overall appearance.
