I think sometimes we buy stuff just for the thrill of the deal...but sometimes its the deal, in an item you really really like and get to use often.
So what was your best deal this year?
If I may start...all NWT...

Chester Barrie, made in England, simply awesome wool, solid color shades of brown/beige/gray Dress pants NWT from Yoox...got 4@$29.00-$31.00 each.
Isaia suit from STP..$239.00 (still with UPS)
RLPL/St. Andrews SC $300 each
Brioni suit from Kilgore Trout $399.00
Kiton NWT SC $250.00 SF B&S
My best purchase, still unworn, RLPL/EG suede Mackay for $468.00, not cheap but I really wanted that exact suede shoe.

Worst/Best deal...NWT Corneliani Blazer for $99.00, I spend cloose to $200.00 on it to make it fit...and now it sits in the back of the closet, lesson learnt.

How did you do? And best of luck for 2009!!
Regards.

Yeah, Chester Barrie @YOOX (suit and coat) was awesome, also scored a great wallet on eBay and a Brigg umbrella from Papworth (both thanks to SF).

What was probably my best deal of the year was a purchase right here on SF -- an unworn navy wool Jil Sander suit (Tailor-Made line) for $100!

A pair of Edward Green / Geiger 'Chelsea' Oxfords in green for £97

Two bespoke Gieves & Hawkes suits from a thrift store for about £20 each, just needed the trousers lengthening

My first Jantzen shirt - there's some work needed, but it's great to have a shirt that fits well for a comparatively low price

A couple of Daks seven-fold ties from TK Maxx for £12 each

A Gieves & Hawkes silk scarf from the G&H factory shop down from £195 to £19.50

A very nice raglan-sleeve tweed overcoat for £25 from a thrift store

Hrm ... The first one that springs to mind is a Chester Barrie coat made of covert cloth bought off eBay for $9 shipped. (Seller found a small flaw and gave it to me for the price of shipping.) Also picked up a NWT Corneliani sportcoat for $150, a NWT Lorenzini gingham shirt for $7, a pair of Martegani shell chukkas for less than $300 and a poorly advertised collection of deadstock Sulka/Brooks/Sero shirts for about $10 each.

New in box Edward Green Berkeley for $199 at Off Fifth (still have no idea how they wound up there).

Bought a RL Black Label Blazer from Hard2Fit for $100, used but in great condition. My new favorite clothing article.

C+J for Polo loafers for $32 on ebay, had maybe been worn twice.
