I would say that any depicted emotion is a reflection of the feelings of the artist. And if he's getting $2, they probably suck.

well it is a good thing you got the pic done before Kent Wang came along with a needle, some cotton and a job offer.

The guy reminds of a young Gatsby full of hope for that orgiastic future...just run a little faster and jump a little higher, and he'll win his love. Turns out image he's been chasing after is merely a mirage of his own ideals. The lady depicted in the drawing, and I mean no offense, looks like one of them speakeasy broads.
