    You should.

It's probably the best film Ridley Scott has ever made.

Don't watch the piece of shit theatrical release - never seen a movie so changed by a Director's Cut, and so amazing.

I've heard this before. Don't know where I'd find a copy of it.

I think I found the theatrical cut to be a tad dull, but I have often heard about how great the Directors Cut was.

Eva Green alone is worth checking out!

The Director's Cut is a masterpiece. There is so much more to the story, so much that wasn't even touched upon in the theatrical version. I'd have to say the Director's Cut of KOH is Ridley Scott's greatest film (and I've seen and own many of his movies).

Does Eva Green get naked in the DC?

I remember I saw KOH in the theater and thought it could've been so much better.

Theatrical Release was edited by a person of diminished mental capacity, so I'm all for giving this a go.

Just watched it last night (thanks teger!). Won't say it's his greatest film but it's excellent and leaps and bounds better than the theatrical release. Don't know how he'd let the studio butcher it (they didn't know it'd be long as fuck just from the script?) The timing of it's release was unfortunate too.

High praise. Ridley Scott is one of my favorite directors. If there's even a chance that this is as good as blade runner it's definitely worth a few hours of my time

Damn - Apparently I've owned this on Blu-Ray for quite some time, and never bothered to watch it thinking it was no different than the theatrical version (which I've already seen a number of times).

    You won't regret it.

It really, really, really is an entirely different movie. See it!

I think it's better than Blade Runner (which is fucking amazing)

i didnt watch the original theatrical release because of poor reviews, but this was a great film. the stupidity of a naive man. the false love of a grieving woman. the frustrating narcissism of men who confuse their own will with the will of god. great cinematography. simple clean plot. real human like characters (ie idiotic, simplicity of thought, blindness to reason and empathy)

orlando bloom was pretty bland though. maybe because of not enough character development. maybe because of apathetic acting

i do have to say that the villains like the clergy, guy de luisignan, reynard de castillon were extremely one dimensional, extremely :fu::facepalm: worthy, enough that i'd wonder whether these people were like this in real life or merely caricaturized in order to advance a more hollywood like story. maybe the same can be said of all the characters and convenient love story, but it makes for a pulling story

also from what i remember salahudin was a pretty ruthless killer, lopping off christian heads

I suppose as these historical "epics" go, Kingdom of Heaven wasn't too bad, but it still took far too many liberties with the facts for this historian's taste. The character of Guy de Lusignan was totally misrepresented. as I recall. In reality, he was young, handsome and courtly. Some historians opine that he imprudently rushed into the battle of the Horns of Hattin because of taunts that he was "unmanly" and lacking in courage.

In reality, the historical personage played by Eva Green died only about three years after the battle.

Don't know how much the director's cut would bring to the table.
