i prefer foie on a burger as opposed to in and of itself but that's a pretty good description.
i enjoy a shaved truffle now and again but find they over power any lightly-flavored food too much sometimes.

I had no interest in it.

Then my parents spent three weeks in France, and mom came back RAVING about it.

I had the chance to visit a fine French restaurant last month, and ordered as a main course the Breast of Duck with Poultry and Duck Foie Gras stuffed Cabbage with Baby Turnips.

It's a good thing the stuff is so rich, or else I'd be tempted to eat more than a few dozen grams at a time.

As a chef friend of mine relates -- "It makes you wonder how the first guy decided that if you force feed an animal until it almost explodes its liver would get huge and be the best tasting thing in the world. Either way I am glad they did and I make no apologies for being at the top of the food chain, ya know?"
