Ugghh... right now I NEED a pair of rigid denim jeans... damn you guys with all these topics. I'm pissed because my last denim puchase was 2 pair of Ernest Sewn, and I thought I was done with denim after that (for at least 6 months). One pair is the dark, semi-rigid wash, which I think I messed up by washing too soon.

I'm thinking about getting a pair of APC since they're only $120. However, I physically can't spend anymore on clothes this month. I paid my rent (50% of paycheck) and spent the other 50% on clothes already. Look at the buying and selling section for upcoming items from me. Think of it as a fundraiser.

Get the APCs. They're awesome, and arguably the best deal out there for good quality raw jeans.

Yea, that was my first choice. I'm thinking about getting the "English" cut, though it may be too baggy for me, and I don't like the high rise of the "Standard" model, i'll have to see.

Brian, which cut do you prefer?

I think I'll buy the new 'Tight Jeans' for men. Are they identical to the New Standards? They seem to be. Why is that?.

MikeC says that the real tight jeans are *Really* tight. Punk rock tight without the stretch. If you have the body for it (I don't) or are Mick Jagger, go for it. Otherwise, you might want to consider the New Standard.

Between the Standards and the Anglaise, I prefer the Standards. The rise doesn't go too high for me. I am dying to try on a pair of Rescues, so please, LA Guy, Sevcom, or whoever gets a chance to wear and compare soon, write us a review. Mike, that poster in the APC store with the denim washing info should come with any jeans that you order from them. I particularly like the suggestion of wearing your jeans into the ocean, then wiping dry sand on them as your first wash. Of course you'd have to wash them for real when you get home, unless you want jeans that smell like burning death (the beach smell

).

Thanks for that link. Prospective RESCUE buyers, beware: according to the SuperF poster, the rise is actually 11.5" (a little high in my book).

Anyone know the rise on the "Standard." 10.5 I'm guessing? Does it feel high?

The rise on the New Standards is 10", I just measured mine. Regular Ralf is 10.5".

My suggestion for good value, well designed Raw Selvedge Denims: Lee's X line Rosco in Dry... Nudie RR type fit, and costs about Euro 70-80 here, but probably similarly priced in the States.

Hey T4phage,

Where are you getting your Rosco's for 70-80 euros?  Thats cheaper than bog standard Levis here.  Might just have to pick myself up a pair.

Go to Mode D' Emploi in Den Haag centrum. If you live in Amsterdam, ask their sister store Bendorff to bring a pair for you to look at.

Thanks, I have seen Bendorff, but havent checked it out much.

Long shot, but do you happen to know a custom leather shop anywhere in NL? After the casual belt discussion I am still trying to figure out how to do a custom belt.
