So, how the hell does it work?

For example, a 50 EU normally is = to a 34 waist in the U.S.

They do it by suit size, so if I am a 34, what do I get on Yoox?

A 40, if you are registered in the USA. They adjust the sizing as they do with their suits, so a EU 50 is a US 40, which corresponds to 34 inch waist.

Note that a few of the pants seem to have US pants sizing.

If you click on the size info for an item, it will tell you whether it is a 'suit' based size or and actual size.

Damn, so I need to look for 40's? so a 42 would be 36 so on and so forth?

So if I ordered pants that say 38 suit size, I am not getting waist size 38 pants!?!? I guess $70 Incotex would be too good to be true. Guess the whole order is going back if it ever gets cleared by customs and gets to me. God I hate that website. You can get accurate measurements of pants leg openings but not pants waist sizes or whether a suit is regular short or long.

For suit sizes I think you subtract 10. So a Euro 50 is a US 40. And that is most often the chest size. The pants are mostly a 6" drop from the chest, so a 40" chest will come with 34" trousers.

This seems to work for me as a rule of thumb I've found through trial and error, I've never looked it up.

If you are a 34" on YOOX, I think you'll need an EU50 pant size.

shoefan and tiecollector are correct. Another caveat is that YMMV depending on the designer. Some designers tend to cut their trousers more narrowly, whilst others are more generous. For example, I've found that recent Costume National trousers that I've bought are more generous in the waist then Versace or Dolce & Gabanna. Yoox will always report the original label size, and will also report the US suit size if you are using the US version of their site. The best thing to do is know (roughly) what size you wear for that particular designer and use it as a guide for your purchases.
