If you ever decide to part ways with that, I am your man :)

Also I have been looking at this a lot; [IMG][/SPOILER]

My motivations were that it would work well with a lot of my blue blazers and has a youthful flair to it which i think is appropriate for my age. Also its 55 dollars new!

Let me know if you guys think its a wise purchase. Also I was thinking of taking pics of all my CS and Y pieces once more of it comes in and post it (perhaps as an FP) to get a better sense of what pieces I need still. :)

Well its been very hard to get the right match between the fabrics (or the right level of difference) when I had been doing black and blue. The white lets me move around a lot more with my blazer color. And it will be fabulous for the summer given then materials its made from. I have a "rule" about trying to not wear as much black during the summer. It would be nice to keep up with that yohji style. There are 14 day returns too, so if it doesnt work out for me, I'll send it back!

Also, hopefully my dyeing project will pan out (thanks again for the tip!)

^ that's not good, Mr David ! Aren't there temporary alternatives you could go through ??

To invent a new opera. He gave me the assignment to break with all rules and I made my best effort to do so. Today it seems to me as though we had been little children and we screamed against a high and strong wall: tradition.

And so last night I went to a performance of Don Giovanni in a light blule/grey wool-cotton blend yohji suit, top button of 3 done only, white tee and chucks in off white, dirtied from constant wear. a white pocket square garnishing :D

Alternative is to do nothing....I've 4 hours to inflict damage to my PP account once SS back on. Experience suggests this mightn't be enough time.... A quote from a famous friend of mine:- " They are only f**king clothes at the end of the day. "

We need to see your outfit :)

I must pick this book up. Looks like they are also doing one on Rei Kawakubo and Vivienne Westwood. Thanks for the heads up :slayer:.

Ben, those white pants look nice and I guess they are okay as just a one-off purchase with a specific use in mind, it is definitely much easier to focus on purchasing black garments mainly (and I would advise it myself since it keeps things simple) , but if you feel you know how you want to pair your colours then go for it.

David have you had a look at fromjapan.co.jp? I am using them for the sunglasses purchase right now so don't have much experience with them, but it seems pretty straightforward and since it is automated to a large extent you can just create an account and give it a go without waiting for an email. Might be worth a shot?

Ben, I think you should slow down a bit. You are really enthusiastic and everything but I think you need to consider things a bit more carefully. Your posting here but mainly in WAYWT seems really frenetic and hurried. There is no rush is there? I'd just take the time to pick and choose solid basics, figure out what aspects work for you and which don't and then decide to branch out and explore. I think you'll find that you will enjoy your purchases more and you won't waste time and money on things that were chosen on a whim.

I'll think about it some more. If I do get it ill post some FPs and if you guys think it works then ill stick with them. 10 bucks to try something out is not the worst way to spend 10 bucks. :)

Hope you can figure out an alternative david!

Here lies the problem IMO. We are not fashion gurus or stylists, just coming on here to have a healthy discussion of our favorite " dress maker " and share our experience and ( valuable ) info. In the end what matters is you think it works, then it works. Don't forget pictures alone can't tell the whole story especially for Yohji's garments. Pictures cannot truly provide how the fabrics feel and how they move, you the wearer can however. Established well-dressed posters here like Ivwri, Kiko, Asobu ( I want commission lol ) post their FPs regularly, do you notice they often ask if other members here like their fits? Hardly. I guess they don't cos they know already they work for them personally. To pull off the nonchalant vibe of most of his stuff you need the nonchalant attitude to go with it. Well that's what I've learnt over the years anyway. The roomy clothes are there to shield you from any critique that you inevitably will get.

You need to go with the flow, follow your instincts, buy things that suit your budget. For me I'd rather buy one expensive authentic Yohji piece than 10 " pseudo " ( your quote ) cheap stuff for the same cost that you'd probably end up selling eventually.

I have, but at first glance its almost sensory overload..... Also the pages keep jumping back and forth ( not iPad friendly ) until I figure it out. I'll wait until your glasses arrive safely first haha.

Also what I'm planning on bidding is a bit of a risk cost wise using a new site for the first time :(

I have these exact jeans. They're pretty incredible...I was looking for a similar cut based on this sartorialist shot and got them on eBay about a year ago. I have no idea if this shot is YYPH, but the cut is similar....Thanks for posting the runway shots -- I had no idea which season they were from.

I have a size S and they're still dramatically oversized in every dimension, but they're great quality heavyweight denim - pretty unique cut with the attached "suspenders". They seem halfway in-between workwear and hakamas, but without appearing too costumey in either direction.

On a spammy sidenote, I'm selling some Yohji on ebay.

I would certainly consider trades for other YYPH items.

Will definitely report back once (if!) I get the glasses and give a small review of the experience. At the moment the status report says they are waiting to receive the package from the seller.

Just took this today. Wearing Yohji overalls I picked up from Valter (thanks again man, arrived in great time! :slayer:). Been wanting a pair of Yohji overalls for a while now so pretty happy to have this. All that's left now is the SS07 ones in 100 gab .

These are really nice. They have a tuxedo-style stripe down the side making them look slightly more formal with a jacket on. The wool is code 117 and has a slightly dryer hand than 100 gab imo. The season code is HZ so most likely SS04 but non-runway. Don't think it is warm enough for the alternative (AW09).

    EDIT -

David I have auction ending in 18 hours, do you think that will effect it?

Didn't expect someone to ball and say that he owns my dream jeans. Please let me know if you ever consider selling them.

Iwvri.. I'm not sure but me and Alfoso were looking at those overalls... They look awesome!!
