Oh I bought it. I just also want to buy is issey pants and so will be paying for that so that he can ship them both together :)

I also bought slstrs grey pants. Waiting for those to arrive!

Also, there are blazers and pants every once in a while by MMM that i feel if you size up would work well. And actually one season there was a diesel black gold blazer, looked very pseudo yohji, it had this interesting raw pattern on one side of the jacket, as if it had been clawed by something but it was actually just multiple parallell lines of string.

I certainly agree that there is no substitute for Y, but I think that working in other designers that you enjoy adds another level of personal touch. Perhaps its not pure Y but I think a little bit of play is very Y in spirit :)

Not sure I can do denim any more. Been so long since I wore a pair of jeans that the very thought of it seems strange to me now, lol.

One day I will get to that stage and not know what to do with my leather jackets!

Although I might keep them around for the few times i feel like dressing sexy and showing off the fruits of my gym labor :D

Haha! True that. I have been tempted to pick up something from his "denim" collection if I ever see anything for that very reason :D

Yohji is a boss. I doubt I could pull off the full denim look he has going on in that pic. Think it might work better on smaller guys maybe?

EDIT - Damn that jacket is bloody nice though. Look at those buttons.

His runway stuff is absurd, but what he was wearing? I couldn't pull it off, but it looks phenomenal on him.

His " jeans " have always been interesting in terns of either fabrics or cuts, and sometimes both. The SS05 ones I have says YYPH Jeans on the traditional " jeans tag " but they are crackled linen and certainly not cut like jeans, very loose fit in sz 2.

I tried the 2 YYPH SS11 Spotted Horse " jeans " in LN-CC last year. One was fabricated in demin but both sz 3 measured circa 40" waist with suspender buttons, so so oversized....may I also add his jeans are definitely not jeans like in prices lol.

Look at Yohji's demin outfit Parker posted, the jacket can't possibly be called a demin jacket in the traditional sense, the closure arrangement was more like Chinese costume, reminding me of Bruce Lee in his epic movies.

He wore demin ( grey ) at the end of his AW02 PH Runway as well if my memory serves me right.

Most of the time Yohji's stuff only looks absurd on the runway because of the styling which tends to seem "over the top" (like most runway shows I would say) until you get used to it (generally I would say typical Yohji outfits are weird/outlandish without being loud in the same way a Russian Orthodox monk/priest would be I guess. They stand out in a typical Western urban setting without being loud about it) or sometimes just plain nutty hehe. The trick is to be able to get over the entire impression of an outfit and look at the individual pieces if the full look is not to your liking.

You would also be surprised what looks you could pull off if you just didn't think about it and focused on how comfortable you were first and foremost.

I kept on dilly-dallying on those jeans over on LN-CC (the lighter striped ones) and I regret not picking them up every now and then :(.

Ivwri, believe or not, I saw the striped Spotted Horse SS11 in Joyce Warehouse 8 months ago when I was back home. Don't be fooled by the warehouse name, everything is BNWT ( sometimes w/o ). They were......size 4, perfect for you. I'm going back home in 3 months, if I see them again I can get them for you. ( they're about 70% off HK retail ).

Oh, completely agree on that. I went through this thing for a while after going tailgating with my dad where I really wanted to own some straight-leg light washed jeans and a college sweatshirt for fall sporting events. I finally gave in and went to the Old Navy. Still have them, still wear them to tennis tournaments and tailgating.
