    Thanks Guy. Much appreciated.

asobu, thanks for that link to the video. Finally watched it and it is gorgeous. Love the details behind some of the jackets. The pleating and ruching is excellent and reminds me of some of the jackets from SS12 for women.

Also seemed to be a detail that shows up even on the t-shirts -

Very happy that it seems the two lines are borrowing details from each other now. I think this trend should continue as it gives both sets of clothes an indefinable quality that sets them apart from everything else, particularly the men's stuff where having feminine fabrics or details is something not seen often.

Looks 7, 9, 23, 24, and 31 all have jackets I really like now. Was already intrigued in the jacket from look 31 in particular because of the print, but now that I have seen the pleating at the back and the way it moves I am even more interested in acquiring that. Would also love the look 7 jacket in black (and maybe even in the blue if the shade is right in person).

The pants with the 'capes' running down the backs of the legs look promising as well even though only one of the pattern/fabric combinations really stood out to me (look 32), but it also looks great in all black.

This seems to be much more of a pants collection and that's pretty cool with me. Living in a tropical environment like Nigeria's has made me appreciate how trousers can really make an outfit pop since sometimes in the year it can really get too hot to wear a jacket comfortably. In these instances, having really cool pants can make an outfit very interesting. Well, really cool pants or an awesome shirt (like the long ones shown here, hehe).

I've watched it several times now, I liked it when I saw the first pics but I absolutely love it now, seeing it in motion from the front, side and back. will try to post a few more impressions later when I have more time

Also woke up this morning with pangs of regret from selling you that white ss94 (?) rayon coat Ivwri... hehe

I've re-watched the SS12 video, what an incredible collection.
Ivwri's and asobu's waywt posts and of course this thread got me interested in Yohji's work but that collection was probably the big spark for me.
I won't go into detail but it has resonated with me, love every single look and wish I could afford it all. :)

All of you guys that have been following Yohji for longer how would you rate SS12 among his SS ouevre? (personal preferences I know).
It would also be cool to know your top 5 SS and FW collections or your top 5 pieces (perhaps this has been discussed before.. don't remember reading).

downloaded that video to watch thanks !

unfortunately it turns out the trousers i'd tried on in london were different fabric, HB-P01-7-2 is what I ordered and they are more like sweats :(

sorry to hear that, shah. i believe I know the pants you mean. they're incredibly soft and light, but they do seem kinda like sweats.

SS12 is the collection that really kicked off my interest in Yohji as well. Of the shows I've seen images from it's definitely my favorite. I like FW08 a lot too. There are some really cool jackets in there. FW12 was also really good, which makes me excited to see what's going to show up in stores soon. I think there was a video of ss2000 in here and I recall thinking a lot of that was excellent as well. It's kind of a funny presentation with the models just sort of standing around (you'll see what I mean).

tried them in light blue in a twill cotton in the store, ordered and got a different kind of thicker cotton that tend to look like sweats. they are pretty amazing, but i wanted a slightly more formal pair of trousers

Well, I did ask for people to put up their top three pieces in their wardrobes and maybe grail pieces as well. We could always expand it to five .

I am working on taking pictures of all of mine and so will probably post over the weekend. Been a bit busy this week. Think I have sorted out the pieces I like the most so far anyway.

As for favourite collections, well SS00 is possibly my favourite so far because it has so many excellent pieces from what I have seen in the video, handled in person and heard described. It also really captures what I would want in a wardrobe I think. Hell, it even has pleatless hakama pants (not as wide as SS12, but still) and suits with multiple hidden pockets! After that, in no particular order - SS12, SS09, SS08, FW07. The list changes of course depending on my mood, but I think these are the seasons that I keep coming back to again and again for their overall concept, number of pieces that I personally want in my wardrobe and just a general vibe from the styling and so on. To answer your question about where I would rate SS12, I would like to handle a few more pieces from the other seasons I mentioned before I make that judgment as it would be pretty unfair right now since I have handled the majority of the pieces from the season and have quite a few of them in my wardrobe too, making it more visceral for me.

I really like SS12 and 13 because of the amount of Eastern-inspired garments in them. The hakama pants, flowing trousers etc. The jackets with the long pleated tails at the back are almost like a dream jacket for me and are a must buy once the collection comes out. I really like pleating and ruching used on men's things and these just capture that blend of flow and softness without being too feminine. Right on the line of things that inspire me.

@shah, damn shame that the pants are not what you wanted. Can you still/are you going to return them?

@pickpackpockpuck, yup, the SS00 runway show is pretty cool. Love the rebellious/young Japanese hooligan/Banchou vibe. Has anyone seen (or read) Crows Zero? That collection makes me think about that.
