Yeah Hendrix, I agree with your assessment and what Auburn and pickpackpockpuck said earlier. At the end of the day, it seems their remit is less one of critique and review and more one of establishing and maintaining a status quo. It's more commercial in focus than artistic. Well, I guess it makes sense since that's what sells magazines/attracts people to sites primarily.

    Thanks for posting sipang.

Really liking the slimmer cropped pants now. Liked the way they looked in motion. Rest of the video just confirmed that I really like this collection.

This is really nice, I have to ask since you're wearing striped trousers and a long coat, is this a deliberate play on "morning dress"? I like it a lot.

that's the way to articulate. Good sentence, i'm keeping that one.

That''s the one, the SAs there called those the " cruise collection " or pre-AW stuff which just arrived recently, hence no sale. They are clearly SS12 stuff which baffle me about being " newest, therefore no discount " . We in Europe are always getting a rubbish deal in anything Yohji.

    Yes, please!

Sort of :). I was thinking about going the full hog and wearing either a waistcoat or the shirt/waistcoat hybrid I have, but I decided to go with this shirt to take it down a notch instead of looking like I belonged on the groom's train, hehe. Quite like the effect of the fraying anyway.

Haha. Well, I did get people looking at the coat in particular. Some of the drivers in the car park were commenting on the coat and one of them was telling the others how "...it is what is worn in formal events in Scotland". Heh.

thanks for the video, sipang. so nice to see the clothing in motion. I keep finding new favorite looks, like Look 11. even though it's a somber palette, the string blazer and flowing pants look really good to me. I kinda wish he chose better music for the shows. I guess at least it doen't try hard to be cool, but it's sort of hokey. what I wore yesterday: cotton Napoleon jacket, lavender t-shirt, Coming Soon linen-wool gray pants, wool gab cover pants, leather Superga, vintage 60s horn-rimmed spectacles. I think I could use a lower neck tee-shirt. or something with a more interesting pattern. [IMG]

just saw the video.... not fan of those transparent fabrics. way too feminine for me. the string suits are amazing, though! my personal opinion it's that the collection it's not as strong as last years, where everything was master piece and you can understand the whole story. the make-up and the "for sale" jacket took over the show this season.

parker killing the thread with those posts! don't think you need looser neck, the bottom part it's very casual and relaxed which gives you opportunity to bring that sharpness with the neck and the jacket. maybe if you put the over pants 2-4cm higher?

ivwri, nice, nice and nice. just the laces that put me off.

thanks to asobu and ivwri for the encouragement. i bought this whole look from s/s 2001. white lamb leather and ramie/nylon pocket trousers. now we wait.
