But, like sleeves, don't shoulders tend to shrink when washed and dried? Or do they not? I've never noticed, come to think of it...

If you already have a well fitting shirt take measurements from that and give them to MT, will be a lot easier than estimating the correct fit.

I just got a shirt from the same tailor, and I got short sleeves as well. Ordered a shirt from Jantzen with the exact same measurements and got perfect length sleeves, so I don't think my measurements were too wrong.

Measure the sleeve lengths yourself and if they are incorrect from the measurements you gave, email MT and they will help you sort out your problem.

They have offered me to ship it back for free fixing. Shipping covered by me as I understood it

Did you make the wrong measurement or did they make an error?

The sleeves are definitely quite short.

As far as the rest of the shirt, it looks great.

Going to a local store to get your measurements taken are fine. However, just ensure they are taking the proper measurements. Each tailor has instructions on their site, so follow them.

The way they take measurements in HK is different than in Bangkok. The end product looks good, but they take slightly different measurements.

I'm a huge fanatic of custom shirts, bought atleast 50-60 shirts in the last 2 years. I travel to Asia for work and have bought from many shops.

They made an error. Assuming I measured correct on the shirt. My submitted length "shoulder+ sleeve" was 34 inches. I measured from mid neck just below the collar "over" the highest point on the shoulder and then down by the seam and got 33.5 inches. The Jantzen shirt that I ordered with the same "settings" were spot on..

Let me know if I did an error in my measurement before I start pushing a bit harder on them

The sleeve length is taken from the top of your shoulder, as in where you arm starts to fall, all the way down to the bottom of the cuff.

I found this in MT's measure guide and it is also clearly explained with a diagram when recording measurements on their site.

Yeah, I measured like that as well and found it .5 inch short. But the registered number I submitted had shoulders added so I used that as a reference when sending him mails. Of course I could only subtract the shoulder part of it to get the sleeve length.

Have you emailed them your predicament? They are usually very reasonable to talk to.

I have e-mailed them, and I can only say that the response has been excellent. They are going to reimburse me (I guess store credit) up to USD 8 of my shipping costs (I guess they are going to be $10 but that doesn't really matter).

which collar style is that?

if you widen the shoulders, i'm not sure if you will need a full two inches on the sleeves.
anyone else want to weigh in?

Looks like I've got the fit this time. Next time I'll probably shorten the sholders 1/2 inch and lengthen the sleeves 1/2 inch. I might make the armholes smaller too. The fabric is thin but really beautiful 200s thread count. I have not washed the shirt yet.

The collar is
Collar / Collar Lining Cut Away / Stiff
Removable Collar Stay Yes

Since I ordered, moderntailor.com added new collar styles.

Fabric is
White plain / X200 /

Previous shirt fabric was
Small White herringbone

Neither fabrics are available anymore.
